Food DriveSenator Lindsey Williams' Ross District Office 5000 McKnight Road, Suite 405, Pittsburgh, PA, United StatesDue to the ongoing federal government shutdown, Pennsylvanians who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — commonly known as food stamps — will not receive their benefits in November. This loss of support will create real hardship for many families in our community - for every one meal the charitable food network provides, SNAP provides nine! Food pantries and food banks across the state are bracing for a marked increase in demand because of this unprecedented disruption of SNAP benefits. To help our neighbors in need and our local food banks, my office will be hosting a food drive through December. All donations will go directly to North Hills Community Outreach in Allison Park and Feeding the Flock in Cheswick, two local organizations working tirelessly to support families facing food insecurity. Every contribution — big or small — makes a difference. If you’re able, please consider dropping off nonperishable food items at my district office to help ensure no one in our community goes hungry during this difficult time.
