Our annual Halloween Costume Drive with North Hills Community Outreach is starting soon! Help make a little ghost, goblin, or princess’s holiday a little spookier or sweeter by donating your gently used or new Halloween costumes.

Costumes will be distributed at North Hills Community Outreach’s coat annual coat distributions in October.

Donations are accepted at our McKnight Road and Natrona Heights offices all throughout the month of September!

We changed the name, but the event is the same! Senator Lindsey Williams is hosting her 6th annual Family Resource Fair on September 25th from 4pm-6pm at Paulson Playground and Spray Park, 1300 Paulson Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.

The Family Resource Fair is for parents, grandparents, foster/kinship families, guardians, or anyone looking to start a family. Some of the organizations attending this year include the Midwife Center, UPMC for You Dental, Pittsburgh Scholar House, Pittsburgh Fire Fighters’ Coats for Kids, Achieva Early Intervention, and many more. Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, Pennsylvanians who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — commonly known as food stamps — will not receive their benefits in November. This loss of support will create real hardship for many families in our community - for every one meal the charitable food network provides, SNAP provides nine! Food pantries and food banks across the state are bracing for a marked increase in demand because of this unprecedented disruption of SNAP benefits.

To help our neighbors in need and our local food banks, my office will be hosting a food drive through December. All donations will go directly to North Hills Community Outreach in Allison Park and Feeding the Flock in Cheswick, two local organizations working tirelessly to support families facing food insecurity.

Every contribution — big or small — makes a difference. If you’re able, please consider dropping off nonperishable food items at my district office to help ensure no one in our community goes hungry during this difficult time.
