Senator Lindsey M. Williams Responds to Today's Childcare Chaos Created by President Trump

This morning, Head Start providers around the country discovered that they were locked out of the federal Head Start system as a result of a “freeze” initiated by President Trump. Later this afternoon, the National Head Start Association said that access to the payment system was restored.

Senator Lindsey M. Williams Announces Over $2 Million in Grant Funding for Community-Sustaining Projects

Pittsburgh, Pa.January 28, 2025 − Senator Lindsey M. Williams announced more than $2 million in grant funding for local projects that will address water infrastructure, public safety, and housing needs across Senate District 38.

“Each of these projects is an investment in the quality of life for everyone in the community,” said Senator Williams. “Our Pennsylvania Constitution guarantees us the right to pure water, and that includes the water that we use in our homes every day, not just our beautiful streams and rivers. Senator Lindsey M. Williams, Rep. Dan Deasy to Reintroduce Rodeo Ban Legislation

Harrisburg, Pa. − January 17, 2025 − Senator Lindsey M. Williams (D-Allegheny) and Rep. Dan Deasy (D-27) announced today that they will reintroduce legislation that would repeal a state preemption of local rodeo bans ahead of the first scheduled rodeo event in Pittsburgh in over 30 years. This legislation was introduced by Senator Williams last Session as Senate Bill 412.

Senator Lindsey M. Williams Releases Statement on the Resignation of Pennsylvania Consumer Advocate

Senate Republicans Reject Efforts to Make the PA Senate More Effective and Transparent

Harrisburg, Pa. − January 7, 2025 − Today, Senate Republicans rejected efforts by Senator Lindsey M. Williams (D-Allegheny) and Senator Katie Muth (D-Chester, Montgomery, Berks) to ensure government transparency, encourage public participation in the legislative process, and hold senators accountable to the public.

During the first day of the 2025-26 Session, Senator Williams and Senator Muth offered a set of three Senate Resolutions that would update the Senate Operating, Ethics, and Financial Rules. Instead of voting on these resolutions, Senate Republicans referred them to the Rules Committee by a party-line vote of 27-21. Similar reforms introduced by the Senators the previous two Sessions were also referred to Committee, where they never received a hearing or a vote.
