Pittsburgh, Pa. − September 23, 2024 − Senator Lindsey M. Williams (D-Allegheny) joined Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato today as ACE Innamorato signed her first Executive Order, Allegheny Hire, Inspire, Retain, Empower, and Save (H.I.R.E.S.).
“By using her first Executive Order to focus on bettering the experience for workers under her charge, County Executive Innamorato is leading by example,” said Senator Williams. “The benefits being considered here are ones that make a real difference in the lives of employees – like access to quality, affordable child care and family care, or giving people the chance to further their education and advance in their career without stepping out of the workforce. Prioritizing the employees of Allegheny County is going to make a huge difference in their lives and in turn, create better services for the residents of Allegheny County.”
Today’s Executive Order focuses on recruiting and retaining talented individuals to serve Allegheny County and its residents as a part of the County’s 6000-person workforce. H.I.R.E.S. will address employee compensation, improve employee recruitment and onboarding, strengthen the pipeline of young people interested in County employment, expand access to child and family care options and parental leave, establish training and educational opportunities to help with employee retention and promotion, and consider a hybrid work model.
