Pittsburgh, Pa. − November 4, 2024 − Senator Lindsey M. Williams (D-Allegheny) released this statement today ahead of tomorrow’s General Election:

“As we near the end of this long election cycle and look forward to Election Day tomorrow, I want to take this opportunity to thank the county election employees here in Allegheny County and across the state.

These elections workers, and the thousands of poll workers who will join them tomorrow, are our friends, family, and our neighbors. They are all dedicated to ensuring that our elections are free, fair, and properly administered.

I am proud of the fact that our elections in Pennsylvania are administered on a local level. But Pennsylvania is a big Commonwealth—67 counties and over 2,500 municipalities bring the opportunity for the introduction of confusion, misinformation, and ultimately, the chance for those who wish to divide us to sow fear and anger.

Whether your preferred candidate wins or loses tomorrow, your neighbors will remain your neighbors. I urge you to reject the outside forces looking to divide us and instead remember what makes Western Pennsylvania so strong: that we look out for each other and work together to build bridges and solve problems.

This is why I am inviting the community to Shaler North Hills Library for a “Post-Election Peace, Pizza, and Puzzles” event to bring the community together. This is a wonderful chance to talk, share a meal, and solve puzzles together—exactly what makes this community so wonderful. No matter your party, I hope you will join us.”
