Senator Lindsey M. Williams Announces Over $9.8 Million in Local Share Account Funding for Community Needs

Pittsburgh, Pa. − September 15, 2026 − In partnership with state representatives, Senator Lindsey M. Williams announced more than $9.8 million in Local Share Account grant funding for projects. These projects will improve the daily quality of life for people across Senate District 38 by supporting library access, local water infrastructure, municipal safety, neighborhood connectivity, and first responder needs.

“The funding announced today will make a real difference in the quiet systems that we rely on every day, but often don’t notice until something is wrong,” said Senator Williams. “These grants will also replace aging waterlines and update water infrastructure throughout the 38th Senate District, ensuring that residents have access to the clean, pure water guaranteed to them by the Pennsylvania Constitution. They will help first responders, like the City of Pittsburgh, Ross West View EMS, and Richland EMS, purchase the vehicles and equipment they need to respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, allowing them to be there for us when we need them the most. They will replace aging municipal equipment, allowing our public works departments to better take care of our roads and parks, with lower maintenance costs for local taxpayers. And the funding for a new Bookmobile will connect seniors and new patrons with the joy of the library, all across Allegheny County. I’m proud to help secure state investments in the projects that improve the quality of life for everyone.”

Projects receiving LSA funding in Senate District 38 are:

  • The Allegheny County Library Association will receive $338,071 to purchase a new Bookmobile.
  • ALCOSAN will receive $300,000 to purchase a new combination sewer cleaning truck to add to its existing fleet.
  • Allegheny Health Network will receive $1,000,000 to construct an EMS Training and Resource Center at their Wexford Hospital campus in Pine Township.
  • Aspinwall Borough will receive $34,327 for improvements at Aspinwall Community Park, including new pickleball courts and a multiuse court.
  • Cheswick Borough will receive $300,000 for roadway reconstruction on Maple Street, South Highland Avenue, Oak Street, and Railroad Avenue.
  • East Deer Township will receive $400,000 to replace waterlines along West 8th and West 9th
  • Hampton Township will receive $200,000 to replace the roofs of two buildings within the Municipal administration complex.
  • Harmar Water Authority will receive $500,000 to install a second filter unit at the water treatment plant.
  • Harrison Township will receive $600,000 to complete a sanitary sewer inspection and cleaning project through the Township.
  • Ingomar North Recreation and Swimming Club will receive $200,000 to replace their pool liner, install a new pool vacuum, purchase a new pool cover, pave the parking lot and basketball court, and renovate the baby pool and storage deck.
  • The Kelly Strayhorn Theater will receive $300,000 to replace mechanical and HVAC systems at their new facility.
  • McCandless Township will receive $179,457 for repairs to the LaRoche East Dam.
  • Northern Regional Police Officers Association will receive $93,577 to purchase two fully equipped police vehicles.
  • O’Hara Township will receive $100,000 to install a retaining wall along River Road to prevent potential landslides.
  • O’Hara Township will receive $200,000 to stabilize the Sycamore Run stream bank and restore pedestrian access to the Salamander and O’Hara Trails.
  • O’Hara Township will receive $50,000 to install 13,500 square feet of sidewalks and ADA ramps along Alpha Drive.
  • Pine Township will receive $250,000 for the construction of a new municipal building on Pine Park Drive.
  • The City of Pittsburgh will receive $800,000 to purchase a new pumper fire truck.
  • The Pittsburgh Harlequins Rugby Football Association will receive $200,000 to install a high-efficiency LED sports lighting system at Founder’s Field in Indiana Township.
  • Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority will receive $200,000 to rehabilitate the west raw water intake at their water treatment plant.
  • Richland EMS will receive $197,000 to purchase a new ambulance.
  • Richland Township will receive $200,000 to purchase a 10-ton dump truck equipped with a plow and salt spreader. They will also receive $125,000 to replace 1200 linear feet of waterline along Beechnut Drive.
  • Ross West View EMS Authority will receive $100,000 to purchase a new ambulance.
  • Shaler Township will receive $200,000 to construct a new ADA-accessible trail at Fall Run Park.
  • Sharpsburg Borough will receive $200,000 to replace sidewalks along 13th Street and Canal Street.
  • Southern Allegheny Valley Emergency Services (SAVES) will receive $150,000 to modernize their fire station, including the addition of a weather relief center that will provide residents with a safe, accessible, and climate-controlled area for use during extreme weather events and prolonged power outages.
  • West Deer Township will receive $434,800 for improvements at Bairdford Park, including building a new centralized concession stand and converting the existing storage building into a kitchen for pavilion use.
  • West View Borough will receive $57,169 to replace the public stairway along Martsolf Avenue and Center Avenue, and $75,000 to replace the public stairway along Ridgewood-Center Avenue.
  • West View Water Authority will receive $600,000 to replace the water line on Thompson Run Road between Halzett and McIntyre Roads.

Senator Williams partnered with State Representatives Aerion Abney (D-19), Emily Kinkead (D-20), Lindsay Powell (D-21), Dan Frankel (D-23), La’Tasha D. Mayes (D-24), Jeremy Shaffer (R-28), Arvind Venkat (D-30), and Mandy Steele (D-33) to bring this funding into local neighborhoods.

Senator Williams partnered with Senators Jay Costa and Wayne Fontana and Allegheny County State Representatives Aerion Abney (D-19), Emily Kinkead (D-20), Lindsay Powell (D-21), Dan Frankel (D-23), La’Tasha D. Mayes (D-24), Dan Deasy (D-27), Abigail Salisbury (D-34), Jessica Benham (D-36), and John Inglis (D-38) to fund the City of Pittsburgh firetruck award and the ALCOSAN sewer cleaning truck award.
