Pittsburgh, Pa. January 20, 2026 − In partnership with state representatives, Senator Lindsey M. Williams announced over $3 million in Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) grants and over $2.8 million in Small Water and Sewer Program grants for projects across Senate District 38 today.

Senator Williams partnered with State Representatives Emily Kinkead (D-20), La’Tasha D. Mayes (D-24), Arvind Venkat (D-30), and Mandy Steele (D-33) to bring this funding into local neighborhoods.

“Our municipalities are leading the way on creating transit infrastructure that centers people, not just cars,” said Senator Williams. “Today’s multimodal grants will help support projects that improve road safety for everyone—drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit riders alike. By installing sidewalks and improving streetscapes, we can keep our neighborhoods safely connected to the schools, businesses, and outdoor recreation that are so important to our daily lives.”

Projects receiving MTF funding are:

  • Cheswick Borough will receive $1.1 million for the Pittsburgh Street Streetscape and Community Connection project.
  • Pittsburgh will receive $750,200 for safety and accessibility improvements along Lincoln Avenue.
  • O’Hara Township will receive $250,000 for pedestrian improvements along Alpha Drive and Gamma Drive.
  • Sharpsburg Borough will receive $450,000 towards constructing the Riverfront District Connector Road and streetscape improvements along Main and 19th Streets.
  • West View Borough will receive $500,000 for improving infrastructure along Perry Highway (Route 19) between Centre Avenue and Wentworth Avenue.

“I continue to advocate for additional funding for programs like the Small Water and Sewer Grant Program that replace aging waterlines and update water infrastructure,” said Senator Williams. “The projects that are being funded today will ensure that our drinking water is safe and clean, and that wastewater and other pollutants stay out of our natural waterways. This ensures that residents have continued access to pure water both at home and out in nature, as guaranteed to them by the Pennsylvania Constitution.”
