Earlier this month, I joined my Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus colleagues in urging the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation in fully funding the Senior Farmers Market Nutritional Program.
Every year, my office helps constituents get connected with the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and we hear constantly what a key piece of the health and food security picture it is for people. This program helps keep some of our most vulnerable citizens healthy while supporting our local farmers. For Congress to have appropriated funding—only for it to be disbursed incompletely and delayed—is unacceptable and cruel.
